Abstract
ABSTRACT An electromagnetic approach based on the microstrip‐line theory in traveling waves was developed to validate the hypothesis of an eventual evolution of the resonant impedance of the inset‐fed rectangular patch antenna as a cos 4 law as a function of the feed position. A second modeling allowing to regard the rectangular patch antenna as a plane capacitor has allowed the establishment of the reflection parameters expression of the overall studied structure using the impedance matrix concept. To end this study, the radiation pattern in 2D and 3D representation of the electric field components in the Fraunhofer zone at 2.4 GHz is performed. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
