Summary The Campo-Kribi subbasin is part of the Cameroon Atlantic rifted Margin. Detailed analysis of long offset pre-stack depth migrated seismic lines coupled with boreholes data enabled mapping of the Jurassic Early-Cretaceous fan-delta system at approximately 10 km southwest of the Kribi-Batanga oil and gas field. The fan is up to 25 km wide, 4km thick and is morphologically expressed in the form of bank clinoform sequences. Following the internal reflections pattern, it appears that the fan is divided into two seismic units (upper and lower fans). The lower fan uniformly returns transparent weak seismic facies, with intermittent parallel and high amplitude reflections. The upper fan display continuous oblique high frequency seismic facies and reveals westward progradation. Within this depositional sequence, listric growth faults are common and seem to be associated with NE to NW basement faults reactivation or tertiary volcanic activity. These results opened up Jurassic Early-Cretaceaous fan-delta play of the Cameroon Atlantic Basin and help to introduce new hydrocarbon concepts and exploration opportunities.
