Abstract
Abstract Simple and fast analytical methods are developed to investigate microstrip‐fed square ring antenna. Input impedance is calculated using the parallel plate capacitance model inspired of the rectangular microstrip patch antenna. Radiation properties are theoretically performed using pure TEM of wave propagation. It has been established that microstrip square ring antenna has similar radiation properties to the conventional rectangular microstrip patch antenna with surface reduction.
